1. Virtual Meetings thru September ... 

In light of recent news reports about rising Covid infections and the increasing prevalence of "breakthrough" cases, all WPASOA meetings through September 30 will be exclusively virtual. We will reconsider October and November meetings by September 15.

2. Covid precautions ... 

While we all have to decide for ourselves on appropriate precautions, for your safety and well-being, as well as that of the surrounding community, we also recommend the following as a starting point:

• Get vaccinated, including a booster shot if and when you become eligible
• Social distance outdoors as much as possible, and wear a mask when it is not.
• Avoid crowds - indoors or out
• Always wear a mask in indoor public spaces

The Mid-Hudson Soccer Officials Association (MHSOA - Dutchess / Ulster) will be hosting the following interpretation meetings by Zoom.. (Click the date for the link).

Thursday August 26, 7 pm

Attendees should let the organizers know that they are outside guests. Have MHSOA email either our Secretary (Klaus Whitney) or our Treasurer (Steve Alpert) indicating that you attended the session, with a copy to you.

Yesterday afternoon the Athletic Directors of all member schools made a motion impacting overtime in JV Soccer.  The motion to waive overtime for all Boys & Girls Junior Varsity Soccer matches was passed.  Therefore, for the remainder of the 2020 Fall Soccer season there will be no OT for JV boys & girls soccer.  This rule change does not apply to Varsity Boys or Girls Soccer season.  Please forward this information on to your membership as we have asked Athletic Directors to do the same with their coaches.

The NFHS has posted the 2020 Soccer Rule changes. Key changes include drop ball, goal kicks and free kicks inside the penalty area, and player equipment.
