Last night, BOCES provided some additional information regarding the ZebraWeb transition:

    • All refs should have received a sign-on invite from ZebraWeb. What is there now is limited to your basic profile information.
    • Initial schedules will be created in RefView, and then imported to ZebraWeb later in the week of June 16 or early the week of Jun 23
    • AFTER the import, refs should accept or decline the games in ZebraWeb [THIS IS A CHANGE FROM THE PREVIOUS UPDATE]
    • BOCES has provided a 7-page "cheat sheet" on ZebraWeb Operations
    • BOCES reconfirmed that they are still handling payroll internally, so you should NOT put your Social Security Number into ZebraWeb
    • Mileage in ZebraWeb (for how far you are willing to travel) is one-way, door-to-door driving distance. Some of the training sessions may have given a different impression. This may not carry over from RefView.
    • Blocked schools will not carry over from RefView, and will have to be re-entered into ZebraWeb.
    • There may be additional training webinars during the summer

A recording of the June 5 training session is here.  While we expect more information later in the summer, here are the key takeaways so far:

    • ZebraWeb assumes that all days are blocked unless you specifically make yourself available. (Multi-sport referees can designate availability separately for each sport).
    • Initial assignments (and acceptances) will be made in RefView. The data will then be exported to ZebraWeb. Any game assigned in the export will automatically override the assumed block for that day.
    • Timing of access to ZebraWeb is uncertain; it may need to wait until the schedule is imported. Look for an email from them with login credentials. Hopefully all your information (name, phone, etc.) will transfer over.
    • Unless and until we hear otherwise from BOCES, you do not need to enter banking or Social Security Number information into ZebraWeb, as we expect BOCES to continue handling payroll outside the system.
    • We expect to receive more details and answers to other questions throughout the summer.

Dear Presidents of the Section One Fall Officials Associations:

As a follow-up to the May 20th correspondence from Dan Belfi, Assistant Director, we are continuing to schedule training opportunities to support the transition to our new scheduling and assigning platform, VantageSportz.

Below you will find links to a schedule of training sessions that have been made available to you and your association. The officials training sessions are available on a variety of dates and times. These sessions will be facilitated by the VantageSportz professional training staff and include an opportunity for Q&A.  Please keep in mind that you will only need to select one date/time slot. After booking, you will receive a confirmation email with the Microsoft Teams details for your training session. It is vital all members of your association schedule and attend at least one of the below training sessions as they will need to be equipped with knowing how to set/change their availability within the system, as well as be sure they have any pertinent information updated, such as mileage restrictions, school exemptions, etc.

Dear Presidents of Section One Officials Associations:

I hope this email finds you well and that you have found some time to relax with family and friends. As the leaders of your association, I want to provide you with an exciting and important update related to a change in the scheduling, assigning and payment platform at Southern Westchester BOCES/Section One.

As we shared throughout the course of the 2024-25 school year, with Arbiter's acquisition of rSchool we have been reviewing the functionality and efficacy of various platforms to assess our next steps. After a thorough and extensive process, which included presentations from various vendors, additional meetings with the BOCES office staff, IT department and Business Office, we have made a decision to move forward with a replacement software, VantageSportz, beginning in the Fall of 2025.

We kindly ask that you share this information with your membership so they are also aware of this change. Additionally, with the Fall 2025 season quickly approaching we’ve scheduled training sessions for all officials. Information on how to sign up for training sessions will be disseminated in the coming days.

Thank you for your continued support as we complete the migration to VantageSportz (Zebra Web). As always, feel free to reach out to Todd, Jesse or I with any questions.

    Sincerely,

    Daniel J. Belfi

NFHS has announced the 2025 Soccer Rules Changes emphasizing head coach responsibility for bench decorum and provide additional tools to help the referee prevent unnecessary confrontations. In addition, the new rules add some clarification to the injury and substitution rules, and move the definitions (formerly Rule 18) into the main body of the rule book.
